Our customers often ask us for ideas of non-monetary rewards that they can give to their employees. Most companies are on a budget when it comes to recognizing employee effort and they wish to find some original ideas to reward them.

Are you having the same problem where you want to recognize great work but can’t find the right way to reward an employee?

Over time, we’ve put up a list of the ideas we found that were fun and simple to use in the workplace.

We have found 4 big categories of non-monetary rewards:

  • Recognition rewards
These rewards are mainly about saying “Thank You” for a job well done. There are many ways it can be done; by handwritten note, face-to-face, in private or in front of everyone depending on what you want to recognize.
  • Awards
These ideas are all about the symbol that an award represents. It can be a trophy, a plaque or just about anything. You should keep the same one over and over in order to create a tradition and make the award a sign of prestige.
  • Perks and Privileges
Everyone likes having a small benefit for having done a great job. It can be an extended lunch hour, better office or choosing your assignments.
  • Learning and Career
This category of ideas is all about offering opportunities. Opportunities to learn and develop a skill, opportunity to establish a career plan with the company or a chance to take on new responsibilities.
